About Small Economy Works
We’re working towards supporting thriving, sustainable, and vibrant small communities. We do this by invigorating small economies and communities through culturally responsive and locally adapted entrepreneurial training and social innovation initiatives. We believe that people who are equipped with entrepreneurial mindsets and skills have the power to create positive and lasting change. Youth in rural, remote and Northern communities are our inspiration, and we support them to be a leading voice and movement without having to seek opportunities away from home.
About Inspire Nunavut
Through our Flagship Program “Inspire” we’ve been offering social entrepreneurship and leadership training to Nunavummiut youth since 2015. The 12 week program supports participants in developing their leadership and workplace skills through connections to their culture, community, and life experiences. Through interactive lessons, virtual activities, and assignments focused on real-world problems, participants act on their passions, set goals, and create projects to launch creative solutions. Ultimately, the knowledge and skills gained help participants of our programs find employment or start their own business and ignite an entrepreneurial spirit in youth across the country.
