Niroja Thirugnanasampanthar

GRADUATE PROGRAM MANAGER

Tamil-Canadian settler, Niroja arrived in Toronto as a refugee from Sri Lanka with her family over two decades ago. Since then, her educational and professional experiences have intersected between teaching, advanced learning, and entrepreneurial environments. One of her favourite experiences was living in South Korea for 2 years and backpacking across Asia.

In 2019 a co-op placement opportunity at Deh Gáh School brought her to Fort Providence, NWT. After building connections within the community, she began working with Northern Loco as the Youth Engagement Coordinator which led her to run the first in-person Inspire NWT cohort. When she’s not working, she lives for the musty smell of thrift stores, being a cinema snob, and spending time with her cat, Mac!
